Happy Father's Day!

I bought this cake from the Great American Cookie Company

Happy Father's Day Ronald! Our day was spent kinda low-key...I had to work most of the day and Ronald went out to lunch with his Grandparents and Parents to Fudruckers.

In the evening, we decided to have steaks and grilled corn for dinner - I would have cooked BUT Ronald insisted that he would grill!

Lillie: Thank you daddy for always playing with me and finding my blanket!

Thank you for my playground, Daddy.

Isabel: Daddy, You are the best bug catcher ever!

I Love you, Daddy
(Jaxon is so jealous...He really loves Ronald)
I love you too!

Mini -Vacation to the Spencer's Lake House

This past week we spent a few days out on the lake.  My sister had invited us to spend a week at their neighbor's lake house that is located on Lake LBJ in Kingsland (about an hour from San Antonio).  We had a great time playing with all the water toys and I think the kids had an even better time -Isabel asked me several times, "Is this our new house?"

Waterfront Property - This place is gorgeous!

Enjoying a little fishing off the pier
-Isabel, Ronald, Maya, Julian, & Rita-

The 1st catch of the day- Of course, Jaxon had to be right there!
Jaxon made fishing hard because everytime a line went in the water so did Jaxon.

"Is that for me?" --Our Very Own Playground

Ronald and I had been contemplating on whether to buy the girls a playground for a while now.  Really, the issue was the expense and would Jaxon eat it?? The girls had received some birthday money from their Great Uncle Bang that I had yet to spend on them -so I thought this would be the perfect gift to them.  We went to Academy and found a little playground that would work out for both girls - not too big and not too small.
The playground set came in 2 large boxes -lots of pieces.  As we read the direction, this little project was going to take anywhere from 6 to 12 hours....uh, maybe we should have paid for it to be put together!!

Daddy and his little helpers

After 5 long hours, here is the playground! The girls love it - I think we put it in the perfect place. It is in a very shaded area between 2 mesquite trees - no matter what time of day there is always a nice breeze and shade.

I love it!
I lowered the swing to fit Lillie

Muddy Buddy -Ride and Run Series

The day after the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon, Ronald and I drove to Austin for the Muddy Buddy Ride and Run Competition.

All about Muddy Buddy:
Muddy Buddy is all about having fun with a friend, family member, partner or co-worker! Teams of two traverse a 6-7 mile off-road course and 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course.
Costume Contest:
Ronald & Michael decided to wear women's nightgowns

Avatar Team and the Victoria Secret Girls

The Party Boys
At the end of the race, racers crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together as official “Muddy Buddies”!

A Race to the Finish - 2010 Beach to Bay Relay Marathon

Ronald & I leaving the house to go run
Ronald & I both participated in 35th Annual Relay Marathon on May 15th in Corpus Christi.  We were not on the same team because as Ronald would say "I'm in this thing to win."  I ran with some lady friends from San Antonio and Ronald was on Shoreline ER team.  The day started off with the weatherman reporting hail and flash flood warnings - it was pouring rain and lighting as we left the house.  I told Ronald, "How am I suppose to run in this if I can barely drive in it?" The relay has 6 legs and I was the last leg, so by the time my turn came around the rain had subsided and it was a nice run.

Ronald & I are both working really hard to get in shape. So in order to stay committed, I will be participating in my first mini- triathlon in august and the Harbor Half Marathon in October.  Ronald will be doing a triathlon in July called Couples Triathlon and also the Harbor Half Marathon.

Tippi Toes - All You Need Are Toe Shoes and A Tutu

Isabel at her 1st Ballet Rehearsal

Tippi Toes is a dance company that introduces music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps in a fun and friendly manner.  This is the first little extracurricular activity that Isabel has been involved in ...and she loves it! Since Isabel is in a class full of boys, we thought this would be a great opportunity for Isabel to mingle with other litttle girls.  The Tippi Toes' teachers come to her school every Wednesday for dance class - this makes it easy for us because its at school and during the school day.

Isabel with some of the other little dancers

Unfortunately, Ronald and I were unable to go to the dance rehearsal, but thanks to Nana and Grandpa we were able to watch it on video.  I was very impressed with how much she had learned in such a short time, and despite how shy Isabel is she performed very well.
