Growing Up!

Lillie is now 2 weeks old and Isabel just celebrated her 2 year old birthday. Isabel will have a little birthday party with family this weekend at a local pizza place-Peter Piper Pizza. She loves to sing Happy Birthday (but unfortunately not on request) and still claims that she is 1 yr old. She loves her new Elmo phone and musical guitar that she got from Grandma Betty and Grandpa Dean --Thank you!!

At 2 years old-Isabel loves to be outside. First thing in the morning, Isabel will put on her rubber lady bug boots with her PJs and jacket and head for the backyard to play with Jaxon. She watchs little TV, but favorite shows include Sesame Street, Blue's Clues, and Baby Einstein movies. Like any kid, Isabel has a sweet tooth for candy and baked goods (esp. Nana's chocolate chip banana bread). But she also loves to eat Korean food including seaweed and kimchi that Harmony brings over. She is also a little artist and singer-she loves her coloring books and her new magnidoodle, and she enjoys singing kid songs. Her most favorite thing to do is READ-she loves books.

Lillie at 2 weeks-Lillie had her 1 wk Dr appt and she gained 1 lb. (so now almost 8 lbs). She is really starting to fill out. Lillie's favorite thing to do is SLEEP. She is still sleeping 18 -19 hours a day and loves that breastmilk.

Lillie's 1st Outing/ 1 Week Old

I can't believe that Lillie is already a week old...time is flying. Ronald & I took the girls yesterday to a park/pond that has ducks. Isabel was a little scared at first because the ducks started to chase her...it was a little funny (Isabel started to run toward me and the 2 ducks pictured below with Ronald waddled right behind her). Lillie slept through her entire 1st outing.

Week 1: Lillie sleeps probably 18-20 hours a day. She has fallen into a great routine of feeding every 3-4 hours. We are trying every hard not to use the pacifier with Lillie. Isabel was so addicted to the pacifier that we did not want to start it with Lillie. For Isabel, one day all the pacifiers ended up broken because Jaxon (our dog) ate them...and that was the end of that.

Early Valentines Pictures & Lillie Bug

I am so glad to be home! Isabel has adjusted very well...she has been a very BIG helper. Now, that Lillie is home Isabel seems to be a big girl and she is not even 2 yrs old yet. Isabel has already nicknamed the baby "Lillie Bug". We are working on putting Lillie on a baby schedule-so far feedings are about every 3 to 4 hours. Since we have been home we have had lots of visitors and our refrigerator is stocked with korean food (thanks to Ronald's mom). Lillie is a very content baby rarely cries except at diaper change. It is too hard to tell who she looks like now...

Here are a few early Valentine Pictures! Hope you enjoy
(i had to include Jaxon in a pic-he hated it!)

Lillie Elyse Midyett

She is finally here! Lillie Elyse was born this past Wednesday night at 11:40pm. The labor pains started at work at about 7pm , but at the time I did not realize how close the contractions were. As I was driving home, the contractions seemed to be about 6 to 8 minutes apart. When I got home, Ronald was grilling chicken...And I told him I think its time!

From the time we arrived at the hospital and to the arrival of Lillie was about 1 hour. The labor was quick and painful! I was too late for an epidural ...I was very sad about that. Luckily, i only had to push twice.

Lillie Elyse was born right before midnight on February 4th. She weighted 6 lb 12oz and 20 and 1/2 inches long. Healthy and beautiful! We are very blessed.

Isabel has adjusted very well and is very interested in her new sister.
